Rivcoll celebrated Harmony Day this year in many ways, including participation in Noodle Day, because what is more harmonious than a uni. student with a full belly?
Many students flocked to the Crowbar Quad to partake in the day to highlight student poverty throughout Australia by trying to set the world record for the most amount of students eating noodles (a poor uni student staple) simultaneously.
Rivcoll directors dolled out free noodles to students, hoping to show that regional students can too partake in political action and make a statement about poverty.
The flavour of the day was oriental, but with 42% of students living on less than $200 per week, beef and chicken got a call up too…free is free after all.
Thanks to Viv Brewer and Teresa Iannelli for the lovely photos documenting the day.

Rivcoll offices and the Student Space are located in the Nosh Pit Area. You'll also find Student Supplies, The Co-op Bookshop, The Nosh Pit (Food area), The Crow Bar and the Commonwealth Bank ATM, along with the Residences offices.
